Kris Letang is arguably one of the best offensive-defensemen in the NHL that certainly plays with an edge. This was evident in Pittsburgh’s opening round series against the New York Rangers when a high stick knocked three teeth out of Rangers forward Viktor Stalberg.
The play went undisciplined by Stephane Quintal, Senior Vice President of Player Safety for the NHL, because Letang apparently was “off-balanced after having been checked a moment earlier in the sequence by a forechecking Dominic Moore.” Umm… Ok.
Last night Letang struck again. This time his opponent was Washington Capitals forward Marcus Johansson.
It’s going to be hard for Quintal and the NHL to put a positive spin on this one.
