Tim Tebow made his practice debut yesterday at the Mets’ Instructional League in Port St. Lucie, FL.
Tebow joked that he’s not a QB anymore (some would argue he never was) and that he’s fully committed to baseball.
Reviews were not good for Tebow’s first practice. He completed three of his fifteen throws, tried to run over the first baseman four times, and couldn’t grasp the defensive concepts introduced by the coaches.
But hey, he’s Tebow….Tebowmania is back! A crowd of jorts-wearing Gator fans clamored around the stadium, their mobile homes nearby as they watched their hero muddle his way through practice.
According to reports, his jersey has shot to the most popular on the Mets’ web site. But this is more than just marketing, this is about paying a player way more than his contributions on the field mandate. God Bless America.
