Report: Isiah Thomas a dark horse to replace Phil Jackson

With the Phil Jackson era coming to an unceremonious end in New York, the Knicks are now on the spot to fill the void at president and could be looking to a familiar name in doing so.

While Raptors president Masai Ujiri remains a name squarely in the mix, Isiah Thomas is also a ‘dark horse candidate’ to replace Jackson as president, according to a report from Frank Isola of the New York Daily News.

Thomas previously served as the Knicks president from 2003-2008, but his tenure was largely seen as a disappointment. Under his watch, the Knicks went 56-108 while he served as president. When things went awry in 2006, he stepped in and coached the team to an equally disastrous 56-108 record before his eventual firing.
